Welcome to The Higher Educationalist!
I’m using this site to collect my work and thoughts around teaching and learning in higher education. It’s a work in progress, so expect a few changes.
Most of my work can be divided into three things: Projects, Teaching and Blog. At the top of this page you should see links to those three categories.
Teaching is a pretty obvious category: it’s where I reflect on my varied teaching work (usually carried out with staff at QMUL, where I work).
Projects is a bit miscellaneous, but it contains most of my non-teaching work, which currently centres around communication – either communications between my team and the staff with whom we work, or more broader communication around teaching and learning. I’d love to break out into educational research some day, and if I do it will probably start off sitting in Projects.
Blog is pretty much what it says on the tin: it’s where my blog posts live. This is where my most opinionated stuff sits, as well as my commentary on current affairs in higher education. It should go without saying that views published on the blog, or indeed anywhere on the website, are my own and not those of my employer.
I hope you enjoy the website, and please don’t hesitate to comment if you have any feedback.
